Guys- This is a standing offer. If you know of anyone who wants to get on the water, please let me know. Military, children between the ages of 12-17, or elderly who cannot fish by theirselves anymore.

    MSM,
went to Inian Head tonight and only caught 3 crappie and 5 bream. if the fish are spawning how do you go about fishing in the shallows? i mean, do you continually cast as you were bass fishing or run up as close to the bank as you can and jig? also for a clear lake, do we stick to transperent type jigs?

    hook a brother up

Indian Head is a failry shallow lake and clear, 4-6 foot deep. The water temp. has probably warmed up pretty good there already and it should have already started the spawn.

Try findin the creek channels, as small as they may be, (difference may only be 1-2 foot from the main lake) and fish those areas with structure close by. Remember, these shallow water lakes produce better for me when there is low light conditions, cloudy days, early morning light, etc.

Also, try a method I call "match the hatch". If you are seeing pin tail minnows in the area, try a bait with similiar size and color. If larger bait fish are seen, for example shad 2-4 inches long, upsize your bait and match the color according to water color. meaning clearer water, clearer bait. Low light conditions, try chart. and anything. Ex. black/clear, grey/clear, black with clear sparkles, etc.

All can be ordered from midsouth tackle.I hope this helps but if not, lets schedule a trip and we'll go figure them out!!!!

Guys - I can't go Saturday this weekend, darn honey-do's, but I can go Sunday for awhile. If you know of someone give me a call. I plan on spider rigging over at peckerwood or 7-mile.

Thanks for helping the elderly. I took a friend fishing who turned 76 yesterday, this morning. We had a good day, brought in 2 limits of Crappie. I just hope someone takes me when I get old.
