    Default Yo-Yoing Questions!

My husband and I put yo-yo's out Thursday and Friday night. We started around 6:00 p.m. around 3 inchs below the water. Fish were biting good for a while, but then stoped all of a sudden at dark. What's up with the fish? Do they not bite well at night. This is only my second time going. Thanks!:p

From my experience with yoyo's years ago it usually gets better after dark. I used to set the minnows real close to the surface. These days it's just a jig pole with a tube jig . Nothing wrong with catching a few to eat but lots of folks abuse them , try to fill their freezers. I was out yesterday and they were hanging everywhere up the river here and did'nt see them being attended.

I've done alot of crappie fishing with yo-yos, and done very little of it during the day. You might try different depths, just to see what's working at the time. I look for the most structure I can find when looking to hang a yo-yo.

    Default yo-yo

I pulled a duck that had been hooked through the eye out of a yo-yo yesterday on Conway. Not a soul around

Wingshooter said it best. It always gets better when the sun goes down. I usually set mine about half way between the surface and the bottom.

Maybe we are leaving to early. They bite for us between 6:00 p.m. and 7:45. After that nothing, all the way up until 10:00 p.m. Maybe we need to keep waiting???

I Like To Yo Yo Fish Just Remember In The Day You Have To Be Insite Or So You Can Hear Them So You Have To Be Around Them But Not At Night. Put The Minnow 4-12" Down. Now Some Yo Yos Have A Spring Tensioner On The Side (so I Have Been Told). We Put A Sick About
4-6" Below The Reel So It Will Keep The Crappie In The Water The Cats Will Stay In The Water, This Keeps The Fish Alive And No Turtle Bait. Put Reflecters On You Yo Yos So There Easy To Find, We Also Mark Them With A Gps, We Have Had Some Stolen. Plus It Keeps You From Loosing Them. Some People Hate Yo Yos But I Like Them And If You Yo Yo Fish Have Fun With Them
