open to suggestions. it is looking like most of the places off the river we like to fish may be out next week for my trip home. Other than the lakes mentioned in this thread already, I'm open to suggestions for bodies of water not susceptible to the rivers flooding that have lots of shallow water (6 ft or less) structure to fish. Examples would be Old Town or Mallard. Any places out there like this that have stable unaffected water levels?
Take a look at Bear Creek Lake, in the St. Francis Forest near Marianna. It's pretty stable and produced some big crappie last weekend. I didn't go out--was fixing boat, but some fellows at the ramp had a bunch of slabs. They caught them on red and chartreuse jigs about 10 ft. from the bank. You can usually get out of the wind on that lake.

Just wondering if the rivers have gone down at all? Also, any of the bays and pits looking good or any good reports? Figure they are spawning now.
Black River is still way up, at least at Elgin.
