    Default deployment

you know, with all the mess going on in and around our country, alot of it tends to be "ho hum" until it hits home. I have seen first hand what the scars of battle do to these young men and women, it just really hits home when this person is sitting in your den covered with cuts and bruises from a roadside bomb. Then you find out your own son is being deployed in April, this can't be real, this is my son not someone elses that you just hear about. His mother and I are sitting here coming up with all these reasons while our "baby" (he is 6'4 260) cant go, but then he starts talking about his desire to serve his country and protect all of our freedom here in the USA and it absolutely gives me (not his mother) a different outlook on this even though he is our son and will be leaving his wife and 3 year old son behind.
It's hard to accept these sacrifices that must be made in order to keep us safe and free, but you know what, that is what makes us Americans. Just do me a favor, anytime you see a service man or woman in ANY branch of service, take a extra minute to tell them how much you appreciate their sacrifice and what they are doing. I assure you I will.

Your son is one of America's finest. War always sucks, but someone has to go. A lot of us older vets would take up the cause in a heartbeat if the nation would call us back. I think I would have paid em to give me a chance to spit in Sadam's eye. My nephew just got back safe and whole in body, but everyone involved in battle of any kind is scared where no one sees. I suggest that if you are in a resturant and you see a service man in uniform, quietly call the waitress over and pay for his meal annomosly, he will know someone cares. Good on you and your family, and may God keep you in the palm of his hand always. Tight lines.
