    Default Lake Dardanelle Area

Wanted to go to Nimrod but heard it was muddy so Thursday..Fished Dardanelle bay...couldn't find any baitfish?? Caught no crappie. Fri: Piney bay was too dingy for me also no baitfish caught nothing. Moved to the strip pits and caught 4 keepers. Being the only clean water it was heavily fished. Not my better day(s).
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

Nimrod is about 5' above normal on a slow rise. The yoyo fishermen should be catching fish up in the back of Negro Branch.

david, did those fish have any size on them yet...douglas usually turns on a little sooner than most of the deeper lakes...belcoe might be worth a try also here before too long

We got a mess of "eaters" and one good-ole-bigun that went 2-4 on Greeson fishing 18 to 26-feet deep:

Most came on rosy reds and shiners but the bigun took a chartreuse/silver/chartreuse Shinee Hinee tipped with a small rosy.

Yea, or the mouth of Carter creek. I'm sure you can get a good one now and then, but those little ones would keep you busy on yoyos. Last time I drifted I musta caught 50 or 60 with 2 or 3 keepers.

Sometimes the slabs show up in the backwater this time of year. Level about right now at 6' high. We do have lots of small fish in Nimrod. The area below the duck pond is known for catching lots of small ones every winter.
