    Default Huge slab

I ran my gill nets today and pulled up a real slab. My floor to rail on the boat is 18'' and it was longer. I caught a good bunch of Catfish and Buffalo. Man it was coooooold!!!!!!! out there. Well since Crappie are off limits to netters that big old Crappie is back swimmming in Nimrod. Be glad when good weather returns and net season ends so I can break out the jig pole.:D

What a fish, what a story, and what a guy for being legal and turning it loose. Good job I bet you'll catch him when you get back after them.

You probably don't carry a camera when you're running your nets, but I hope you do next time! I would love to have seen that monster! You're a real sportsman for putting that fish back in to be caught legally. thanks.

Sorry about no picture, but netting is too nasty to carry a camera. The law is all game fish must be returned to the water immediately.

law also makes it illegal to tear the tag off your pillow. Just sayin'.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

But if caught keeping one Crappie I could lose my nets, boat, truck, fishing licence, and most of all the chance to catch that fish on a jig later. A large fine alone is not worth chancing for a fish like that.
