Well, I tried my new Hi-Tek rod holders out and all I can say is, "Why did I wait so long to buy them?"

I also had a chance to use my new Ego Reach rubber coated mesh net and all I can say is, "What a nice net."

Now, for the report. The pond was busy and it was a beautiful day to be on the water, but I think the fish were watching the game. I managed to get 5 fishing a minner under a bobber by the hiway bridge. I tried spider rigging in the pool but had no luck.

One Cdc member whom shall remain nameless (CreekSlick) did manage a limit spider rigging in the pool today. I should have just tied a line to his transom and let him troll me around picking up his culls.

I wound up with 8 today but only 5 worth keeping. I chided the 3 pee wees and told them to go tell their mommies. It didn't work. I sacrificed a bologna sammich to the fish gods... they were unimpressed. Heck, I even sacrificed a cheese cracker to them... They were still unimpressed. Sigh.

I ain't giving up.

Fishtaco it was nice to meet you. I did get a limit but it was an all day job. You could not ask for a more beautiful day to be on the water. Looking forward to the next time I can get down to Gold Creek.

Pretty much the same spot all but 1 came on the bottom hook. I think the sunny day had them deep.

It sure would if it was not a 2 hr drive. But I sure will be back there soon.

I have no idea why you would say that. I've only been fishing it since October and only cheated on it twice. And paid the price. I think I'm starting to figure out the pattern, i.e., they ain't one! :D

BTW, Creek, you should think about posting a picture of that spider rig setup you have. I wish I had remembered my camera or I would have taken some pictures of it in action.

I think it would make for some interesting reading for some folk that are new to spider rigging (such as myself) or are thinking about it.
