    Default Sunday at Darbonne

I haven't fished in over a month getting ready for deer season but I couldn't stand it any longer. I have a freezer full of deer meat now so I drove down to Farmerville, Louisiana Sunday to fish Darbonne. I stopped at the Bear Creek channel marker to check out the channel there and the Humminbird went crazy. They were packed into the channel and were hanging 18-25 ft deep in 30-38 FOW. I started fishing at 8am and had 35 good keepers by 10:30....that's when it got tough. Took me till 4pm to finish out a limit. Threw back 20+ smaller fish. I slow slow trolled an acre sized area the whole day using BG Vegas and Green Thunder. It was a great day on the water.

But well worth the trip Bill! I would have to list Darbonne and Lake Washington as my two favorite lakes to fish. I got a late start and didn't start fishing till 8:00. If I had started fishing at 6:15 like I'd planned I believe I would have been leaving the lake by 10:30. It was strictly a morning bite over there. I don't mind driving 2 hours if the fishing is good.... BTW, Lake Monticello will be getting right Real soon!
