I would like to see you get into a school of whites/hybreds with that set up. I will guarantee you will learn how to untangle and retie in a hurry. Don,t fish the Ferry and expect smooth sailing. Seriously, good looking set up.
If the good Lord is willing and the creeks dont rise I'll catch a slab today.

Fetmo or anyone else who cares to reply. I noticed there in your pictures that your rods seem to be bent over quite a bit. Are you using a heavy weight or are your rods just that limber?

I just purchased the Hy Tech rod holders myself and installed them this weekend. I have never spider rigged before and was just curious as to your set up is all.

Yes most use a weight between 1/2 and 3 ozs. It depends on the speed you are trolling. In the summer time you can troll faster so you need a heavier weight to keep your bait down.

while spider rigging i tie a 3-way swivel to main line, on the bottom i tie about 12-18" of line where i attach the weight. i use 1-3 oz weight depending on the speed and depth i need the bait. then of the other side of the swivel tie about 6-10" of line to tie my hook. you can really do it how you want. there is a lot of info on the internet about spider rigging. i use B n M trolling rods.and yes the weights will bend the rod over quite a bit. i like to have the rod tips 6 inches above the water.

I am baffeled as to why in all of the pictures I see of spider rigging, the water appeers to be glass. When I get my poles rigged up and set out the gale force winds will blow.

I drink diet Cokes only in emergency situations; when for some reason I might be out of DPs. I have had to learn to like diet DPs recently. During that time I have also grown to like diet Green Tea. I hope I ain't getting too much cooth and will start eating tofu or other "good for ya stuff".

Too much information!!! Here I was all set to like you when we finally met and you go and say something like that. Sheesh, before you know it, you're gonna be using Ms. Crappie rods and a pink Snoopy reel causes it matches your tutu.

Folks are gonna start thinking you're a banker from Mississippi if you're not careful, DP.
