    Default White Oak?

I want to find a contact that fishes White Oak Lake. Some one I can call for information as to lake conditions. It is a 1 1/2 drive for me just to find the lake very stained and crappie have lock jaw.

    Thanks

There isn't much talk on here regarding White Oak actually. I'm not for sure why because it is loaded with crappie.

I've heard a lot of good things about White oak regarding crappie. I just don't know anyone that fishes it anymore. And it's farther away than I'm interested in going.

    Sorry.

I lived in camden for about 3 years...I fished it about 3 times and never caught a mess of crappie...I always heard of other's success so they can be caught but I think it is a very seasonal lake.

All the lakes that I fish around Texarkana have excessive water levels.
    Wright Patman 27' above normal
    Dierks 12'
    millwood 6'
Dequeen and Gilliam are both 10'+

I went to white oak last tuesday, the water was about 2' high and stained, caught only 4 crappie. one was 2.75, 2-2.2, and 1-1.8. I am going back tomorrow and try it again.
    I will post my findings.
It would be nice to get some info on the lake, for I know nothing about where to fish it.

I guess I am hunting not catching crappie.

    Default White Oak

I visit the campground at White Oak, in Feb/Mar. Its a good crappie lake. Two other lakes when u r in the area you might want to consider are Bragg & Gurdon. I esp. enjoy Gurdon for Crappie, gills, LM Bass and last year on flies I caught numerous channel cats in the 2-3 lb range. If u are around next year and see a guy in cataraft - thats me. I keep a few to give away at the campground or to the people "bank" fishing. Some people r familiar with me and ask if I'm giving away fish "this year".

Fished WO yesterday. Wind very strong out of NE, had to keep the TM on 4-5 to try to stay in place. Catch a fish and by the time you get into the livewell, your 100 yrds from top. Ended up with 12 fish, smallest 1.9 lb, largest 2.8 lb. Good mess of fish.

Leaving tomorrow for FL w/grandkids. Be back in a week to 10 days and will try it again.
