When I was in PB Spencers was pretty good, but expensive, but as far as H2O, they will rob you blind and then not fix your motor. I heard the guy in Levy is not bad, but I do not know this for a fact.

    Default outboard repair

Not trying to sell anything here but know of a mechanic near PB that does outboard work on the side, has somewhat of a following on duckhunter.net and some other boards of that nature.

That OMC 40 is workhorse motor and not one I would give up on easily. Unless the gear case itself is broken, it is rebuildable. It is also a fairly common LU if you went used.

PM me if you want some contact info. Jim.

    Default Outboards

Some motors have a slip clutch in the foot.

If I bought a outboard I agree, I would buy a Nissan or a Tohatsu both are great. Actually it is the same company just changed its name.

I bought a Nissan from Jimmy Lawson in McGehee. You will not beat his prices or his service. Give him a call.
