Take the cotter key out and take the nut off, pull you prop off,it may have only striped inside of the prop. From there its grears and stuff that can be replaced without buying new motor.

One of the memebers of the broad could have a old motor setting around for share parts.

Hard to recommend anything without knowing the brand outboard you're runnin. I will say this, if you have a yamaha stay as far away from H20 Sports as you can. I took my yamaha over there bout 3 years ago. BIG MISTAKE The ole wallet took quite a hit and they fixed NOTHING. OUCH! Good luck wherever you decide to take it

Ditto, on H2O. they charged me $170.00 labor to connect 2 fittings, one to motor and the other to the stick on my stick steering boat. A friend of mine installed his cable in about 30 minutes. I told them to enjoy because it would be the last they ever get from me. They do have a mechanic for Mercurys, that has a reputation for being the best in the area.

Fetmo, I purchased a 40hp Evinrude E-Tech in July 08. So far the motor has performed great and I am very happy with it. The E-Tech pushes my 165 lowe boat about 33 mph and it is about 40% better on fuel than my old Johnson 40hp motor. The best part is when you turn the key the motor starts every time!
