Agree with the Titelines----very tough poles.

i have never broke one on a fish and have caught some big gar, drum and catfish. I also run 5oz weights on mine in the summer time and they hold them very well.

Wally Marshall Tightlines. Tough poles. 14' have run them 3 years and caught up to a 26lb blue cat on them and still haven't broke one. I use 4 oz weights in summer and had no problems...

Thanks everyone for the information on the poles, lots of different opinions on which pole is the best. I was already leaning toward the b&m 16' pro staff , so I bought four of them to try. Havent had the chance to try them yet. Luvpt, I already have the hitec rodholders, really like them.

You can't go wrong with the pro staffs. I have caught several buffalo up to 23 lbs on them and they never miss a beat. They are every bit as tough as the tightlines. Just tie a 1/16 or 1/32 oz jighead on the end of the line with a loop knot and put 1/2 oz lead about 18 inches above it on the line. Don't use the removeable splitshot with the ears....they will cause the line to twist while trolling. Just use a round splitshot with a 3/16 worm weight above it. I use three of the #5 splitshots in a row below the worm weight. That works simpler and better for me than any two or three-hook rig I've ever tried and believe me I have tried them all. If needed, you can re-rig a rod with this setup in a matter of seconds. Once you find the right color and depth you will have them in your sights.
