Off Topic Help, Little Rock Area!!!!!

Hi, I bring myself over from the Oklahoma forum and I need some help from the find folks over here in Arkansas. My son has a job offer in Little Rock and we are making a trip down next Thursday (5-21-09) and I have heard some good about Little Rock and some bad. The bad thing is the bad is out waying the good right now. So anyone who is from the Little Rock area could you please help us in some good places to live in the area. He doesn't mind driving some if it means staying out of a bad area or town. I know Conway isn't that far away, but it seems like allot of traffic flows in from there. Are there any other small towns close by that is a good community. Or even the parts of Little Rock that is good and what parts to stay away from.

try the cabot area, you are going to have traffic no matter where you live

Try East End. It's a town of about 5500 just south of Little Rock. The morning traffic is alot better on this side of town. you can get from here to McCain mall in 25 to 30 minutes during the morning rush. We have been here about 12 years and love it.

Maumelle is a good idea but so is Benton and Bryant. Good schools and nice,small city, close to Little Rock. I grew up in Little Rock but knoe live in benton and wouldn't move back.

Thanks for the help guys. One thing I failed to mention was he will need some sort of rental property. Be it house or apartment. I am sure apartments will be cheaper, but again it is an apartment and you have allot of unknowns with the people who live there.

So I guess now I ask the question does anyone know of some good rental property in any of these places.

Please keep all suggestions coming.

I'm currently living in a rental property approximately 1 mile from UAMS. Excellent location without any troubles from the bad crowd. I will be leaving at the end of this month if you'd like the info. 3 bedroom, 2 bath, $700/mo

I am a transplant to Little Rock my self. I love it here. It dosen't take much more than 2 minuets to get from one side of town to the other. You didn't say where the job would be, but it dosn't much matter.
