Looks like Poke. i just pick the tender young plants. Boil and drain 3X before seasoning and eating .
Yeah ever since I can remember it's been a yearly event. I always say if a man can make it though the winter, then get a good mess of poke salad and some crappie down him, he is good till next spring. So If your ailing it's because you haven't had your poke salad this spring.
