Years ago we would try to hunt them in the rice by just finding a field not posted and then go help ourselves. Now, doing that will get you some trespassing charges. A few thousand killed by some groups of guys here and there will only help with the snow goose over population. If they get diseased because of over population, it would be much worse than shooting them.

I used to hunt them like you said. Just find a field full and stalk up as close as possible. Afraid to do it now because of the trespassing law. And I've gotten to out of shape to do all the crawling.

I still hunt snows. Some times I stalk them just to get some to eat for me and the wife. When I have clients, it's decoys.
Those kids have multiple violations and zero safe gun handling rules engrained in them. I've been teaching Hunters Ed for 25 years and that's sad. As far as I am concerned, the AGFC should not allow them to hunt here in the state for several years. They weren't hunting any way and they shot those geese to far. Those kids think killing a huge number of geese makes them big hunters. Wonder where they get ideas like that?

HAs anyone ever figured out who they are yet? Enquiring minds want to know.
