    Default Beaver Lake in August

Folks, we have a house rented for 3 days in early August on Beaver Lake. We used to go early but its been 5-6 years and we always went in the June time frame. Is it worth dragging the boat down there in the dog days of summer? Thought about trying to find a guide since my dad and brother have never got stripers before. What do you guys think?

A guide would probably be a safe bet. Come on down and have some fun.

No recommendations on Beaver, come on back this way a bit and there are several guys on this board who can put you on some crappie. Maybe some of the Beaver lake crowd will post up in a bit and help you out. Only fished Beaver one time and here is the thread with the story.

Well headed down next week. Still undecided on whether I am going to bring my fishing gear. Going to pressure wash the boat today and let it dry for a week to make sure no zebra mussels make the trip with me. Don't know if they already have them, but I don't want to be the guy to introduce them. Staying in the Rogers area in a house right on the lake.

I am hoping there are some bluegill hanging around the dock I can put my daughter on. I am gonna throw the fishing stuff in the boat, and we will see what happens. Had the opportunity to buy some land, and can't really afford the guide thing right now.

Caught some bait sized bluegill. Found lots of shad with lots of large returns around them. Jigged and trolled with no takers. Gonna pull crawler harnesses in the morning.
