My wife, son, his fiance, my 5 y/o grandson, and I, all have Type B Flu.
Other than the grandson, we all got Flu Shots.....in October.
Wife's doctor said the shot only covers Type A. My doctor said it covers both. Makes no nevermind, we got it.
It is no fun. I'm on day 5. Some better but can't sleep, hacking up lung biscuits all night.
I discrecommend anyone getting this. I hope to not be contagious by Crappie Camp.![]()

That stinks!!! The flu shot usually only covers the CDC's best guess of which 4 flu strains will be most prevalent that year, and there are always a few strains that pop up that are not in the vaccine.
Sorry you got the flu, but glad you and everybody had the flu shot. It might have been even worse without it. Get well soon!

Get better quick so you can get back to fishing. Yup lmbarnett hit itn the head. The flu shot only covers the 4 strains the cdc thinks will be prevalent for the year. The shot is still worth taking and saves a bunch of lives every year.
I am much better. I am going back to doc tomorrow. I COULD still be contagious, but it's close to the end. I'm not well, but better....... should be ok later this week. Wife is worse than I am, and having severe headaches and taking longer to get better.
I have a bad heart, so I MUST take a flu shot every year. I always will. I had it so bad about 10 years ago, before the heart attack, that it lasted 6 weeks and I was minutes from hospitalization several times. That was awful, painful, miserable. I always get a flu shot. CDC website says that Type B IS included in the shot. That means that 5 people that DID get the flu shot and 2 that did not, GOT the Type B flu anyway.
We all got the shot in October. It's end of March. That's over 5 months. That could be it. However, after extensive reading, it appears that the majority of Flu shots had Two type A virus antibodies and One type B. There were SOME flu shots that had Two type A and TWO Type B. Thus, it's clear there are more than one type of Type B virus.........and that our shots didn't contain the one that ended up infecting us.
Just info for those that are interested. PLEASE get a flu shot and hope for the best. This is fatal in many people, especially us older ones.
I may fish this week, we'll see.......but I bet I fish alone!!!![]()
Get well soon

I think I'm about healed. Still coughing some, but doc yesterday said I'm not contagious anymore.
Naturally, I can't fish tomorrow and it's supposed to storm Thursday. I'm open Friday though!!!![]()
