I deduce that birds...
can't smell.
A man in a blue jumpsuit came by the house just after dark the other day and asked if I would clean some fish. I said I would, but by the time I got them cleaned it was plumb dark. Rather than bury the remains, I just threw them into the burn pile with a bunch of limbs and stuff that had blown down. I noticed yesterday that the smell was atrocious, but the mockingbirds were loving it. Several were sitting in the limbs that I had thrown in. I can only assume the crappie remains had become maggotized (kinda like magnetized but different), and the birds were getting an easy feed. Therefore, I deduce that birds can't smell or they carry some kind of nose plugs.
I shoulda been Sherlock Holmes.
