    Did the same thing not too long ago. Only difference was I used Super Glue to attach the eyelet to the rod. Works just fine, and I saved $30 (Sam Heaton Super Sensitive plus shipping) Those rods are pretty fragile.........won't stand up to truck door being slammed on them!!

    I've seen Nimrod fix on the fly with a hot glue stick a lighter. I've broken 3 like that, everytime on a hang up doing something stupid. The other I broke was on an 8 foot and there was no fixing it unless I had a hankering for a 5 ft.

    I buy rod tip eyes in bulk . I also carry matches and hot glue sticks in my boat. I have fixed several fishing rods for folks after they knocked out ceramic ring on tip unhanging a jig while we were fishing.

    Here is where I bought mine. ROD TIPS/GUIDES Oops they changed policies, must order 100 dollar min . Dang I hate that.
