Last week, my wife, 13 year old son and I ate 35 bluegill fillets for supper. I deep fry 5 fillets at a time the small electric deep fryer. They are great! I caught 20 nice 9/10" shellcrackers yesterday. I don't think we will be able to eat 35 of them. Maybe 20 or 25.
Man its amazing how different people are on the other side of the country...Lol

We sometimes fry them whole and nibble the crispy part of the fins, then pull the dorsal and pectoral fins and flake the sides off with a fork. Even the small ones are easy to fillet. There is a great thread over on the bream forum on filleting.
I have one friend that eats them with grits and eggs for breakfast.![]()

After they are caught,we all put them in our mouthes the same,lol.
