I spent about an hour and a half this morning trying out some more combos with braid .
All four did good , but two of them were better than the other two . A 5’ St Croix Premier and a 4’10” St Croix first gen Trout Series .
Bigger guides are what they had in common. I think that makes a difference when you’re using a leader .
I particularly like the 5’ Premier paired with a Daiwa Exceler 1000 with a Legalis shallow spool . With the Premier being a moderate action UL , fighting fish was better too .
It’s fun to go back through the collection and find equipment that shines that I hadn’t used in awhile.
Caught 21 total on micro jigs . Lost the best fish that came unhooked after a good fight , right at the bank . A 8-9” shellcracker. The tiny size 14 hook just pulled out .
