Thread: Shimano infinity loop???

So what is your conclusion of infinity loop over other modern reels? Would it cast better further compare to the same size Shimano? Would it cast further compare to bigger spool from Daiwa? I believe Vanquish 2000 size spool is 43/13.5 while Daiwa about same diameter but longer at around 42/15.

That small of a difference in spool size is going to matter very little.

I have or have had 2015 Daiwa Luvias, 2020 Daiwa Luvias and 2023 Shimano Vanquish together and with same line on same rod with same lure I couldn’t accurately tell you if there was a difference in cast distance.

With UL stuff I have found that line diameter and rod action/length matter more than spool diameter.

The only caveat to that, which affect spools of any make is to keep it near full, the amount of top lip that is available for the line to drag across will add resistance to letting line loose and will shorten casts.
