A couple of my favorite gill lakes are hard to fish because of limited casting room. I solved my problem by purchasing a pair of knee high boots. Now I get out past the tree line in the water and have more room. Added benefit to the boots is walking through grass my feet don't get wet like I did with tennis shoes. Turn the nippers into biters by adding tiny pieces of Berkley power wigglers to the jigs. I carry three colors and they make a big difference in my catch rate. Without them my catch rate would be cut in half.
