Hate to hear about your boat. Sounds like a nice lake to fish. Good catches and pics. Looking forward to future reports on new lake.

Took a little trip up to Mountain Home, AR to trout fish. Started out on the North Fork River, and ended it there. Long story short don’t ever try to load a boat at the North Fork Dam ramp on 2 generators. I quit fishing 1.5 hours before the schedule said they were to come on. But they turned them on early. Damage cost me 603$. Boat won’t be ready until 7 June. Oh well, life goes on. I did catch trout. Just not as many as I would have liked. That river is just quick and you have to keep your head on a swivel while drifting down. Was supposed to fish one more day on the White River but thought it best once boat was on trailer to keep it there. The right bunk broke off and while I could have loaded and unloaded on some calmer water I was worried I would further damage the paint job. The best news for me is my membership request at a fantastic lake has been accepted. The place is full of bluegill, shell cracker, and crappie. Not to mention an over abundance of largemouth in the 15-17 inch range. Feel very fortunate to be able to fish this lake at a cost of a whopping 100$ a year. Best deal I’ve had on anything in decades. Did not take a pic of 2nd lake that is out there but it is full of shell cracker. But I will only be able to bank fish it. The big lake I can put my boat in. So hopefully next week I can get my boat. But you can bet I’ll be out there hitting the banks until boat is ready.

Nice catches. Sorry to hear about the boat
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
I wondered how your trout trip turned out .
Hate you had the trouble loading. Been there .
I used to trout fish the Chattahoochee River above Atlanta with my 15’ Alumacraft . If they opened a gate or two at the dam , loading became quite a challenge.
The traffic after we got loaded up was as bad or worse getting back to the highway .
We would motor up to the shoals and would drift down , mostly flycasting streamers , but sometimes would catch a few on drys .
Great news about the lakes .
I used to have permission to fish a couple of lakes , but because of circumstances lost them .
Fishing private lakes is where it’s at .
Hope you get sorted soon .

Like chaser said, sorry to hear about the damage. But also glad to hear about the ponds. I’ve had permission for a few, some not very big. There’s some I’d like to fish, like the Kingfisher society lakes, but I’m not coughing the change they ask. Those trout have some wonderful colors. I’ve caught very few and only single digits of wild fish. I’ve led a sheltered life. Even below Normandy, those were stockers. Never got one of the large ones I’ve heard get there now and then. Hoping the boat repairs go fast and you’re fishing again soon.

Thanks for taking us along. I am sorry you damaged your new boat.

Thanks for the share. Like everyone, sorry about the boat damage. That private water sounds like it will be a blast to fish.
