I could never get the slider heads to work well. It seemed to me that crappies often did not close their mouths all the way after sucking in the bait, so the non exposed hook would pop right out on hookset. Having a fish tank kind of proved this, the crappies almost always sucked in a minnow and left their mouthes open so they could readjust the bait in their mouth to go down head first.

Bass chomp their mouths down hard after eating so weedless works well for them. Panfish as well, i caught bluegill on the slider heads.

Has anyone been real successful with weedless rigs for crappie?
