He will answer but I wanted to add this....area trout rods are designed for fishing highly pressured "areas" as the Japanese call them. They're not only designed for great sensitivity but designed to land some rather large fish in flat water. It is not uncommon for these areas to stock huge trout. A two pound bass is no problem at all for this rod...neither is a 5 pound bass. Now northern pike....I have no clue other than I know they get way up into the double digits.
