Recommendations on bobber rod

I would not use the latest JDM UL rods for slip floats. Most of the newer rods..meaning the last couple couple of years or so.....have micro guides with an inner diameter of only 1mm.....bobber stops aren't going well through those. Solid tip rods are designed to work microplastics. Tubular tip rods are better as an all around rod.

I am going to say no to the bobber stops as well. I have never tried one with my Triple Cross but I can look at it when I get home for you. My dad uses the solid tip in the TC and likes it I myself prefer the bend of the tubular model as I think it throws the floats a lot better because the tip isn’t as limber. It bends more down the blank rather than mostly up towards the tip with the solid tip.

So the bobber stop did slip thru the guides. I had it cut kind of short as per the pics and it doesn’t leave a lot of room with the 2lb trout sos line. I hope this helps you some.

Thanks VCM. Looks like I'll need something different for using a slip bobber.

Tried one on the guides of my Majorcraft Finetail, it will fit through but catches alot on the tip. Looks like I'll just keep using my BnM Same Heaton 7ft and ESP 7'6" for slip bobbers.
