When it comes to describing some of these beautifully made ultralight rods out of Japan, sometimes words elude me, but you’ll just have to take my words for it ( especially folks haven’t already own one or 2 Eradicators) or as an author of a great review from The Angler magazine put it: “the attention to detail of this rod is so fine even Pininfarina, the designer of Ferrari …would be amazed.” It’s that beautiful in my opinion as well.
My assessment today is brief and short because I just received it this morning and besides look, as far as built quality, it’s as good as MADE IN JAPAN rod, comparing to my Nissin Ares 5-9( a mid-range) rod. The Abu has the upper hand when it comes to look and refinement, I’m a sucker for glossy butt section of the rod. Other than that I believe both rods blank characteristics are pretty similar with the Eradicator a bit softer in action than the Ares Blue Porter (last photo shows finer taper of Abu rod) which would make it even more an excellent panfish rod.
