uh how about a excellent UL rod and reel combo not so pricey, like under $100. We are talking crappie here right? I bought a couple of smaller lady presidents a few years ago when they were on sale and they have been really good. How about a rod to match?

Finding stock on rods can be a challenge right now. The Leland TCB At BnM and Trout Magnet is an excellent rod with a JDM feel. If you can wait a little they’ll be back in stock. That said, they are NOT a slinging rod, but neither are JDMs.

Bob, what does "they are not a slinging rod" mean? Cast delicately or what, exactly?

It means it is not meant to boat lift fish, you should use a net, and “slinging” is just that - bring a fish up and use the rod to sling the fish up on a dock, land or whatever. Long story short, don’t stress the rod on something it wasn’t designed to do. Hope this helps.

If this is an attempt at talking some sense into JDM fans, you're setting yourself up for failure!
