I've found that they come up early here on Barkley and feed along the many rip rap and chunk rock banks. They must be searching for mussels, perrywinkles, etc. I do not think they're looking to nest yet as the water is only 59-60 degrees. I just can't seem to find them in numbers. Of course a couple of big bites like that typically satisfies me but still...
I hope I get to make a video. Center Hill Lake has a very real possibility of fish making beds and then the water going down and the spawn will be for nought. One can’t even get on the lake now as all the boat ramps are under about 10 feet of water....it’s pretty bad. Up on the lake at Nickajack the level is OK but will have to deal with muddy water and debris. Worst spring I’ve seen in quite a while with the high water. Thank goodness for the trout fishing....it’s keeping me going.

Regards
