Thread: Merry Christmas to All...and to me!

Santa left a package on my porch early this morning. It is an TenRyu Rayz Spectra 6' 1" Twitchin'Custom Stream Trout Rod. No pic I post will be able to show the beauty of this rod. The reel seat is of Karin Barr wood. It is designed to fish for trout in current using cranks....spinners...and spoons. Of course the name suggest that I will also be using it to "Twitch" a Trout Magnet....LOL. This rod is what I call "heirloom" quality. It is TenRyu's flagship trout rod. The Japanese do amazing work. It has been a long while since I had a visit to the Little Red or White River...but hopefully this summer and fall, I will hit them up often. I acquired this rod from Chris at Finesse Fishing...great service. Life is good!

Congrats, Alphahawk. I'm planning to get into stream and lake fishing in High Sierras and have been eyeing a Spectra BFS model and one of the heavier spinning models for plugging. While the choice of a reel for the BFS model is rather easy (Calcutta Conquest BFS?), I'm curious which reel you are planning to pair with your Twitchin' Custom.

I can reply to this now that internet has been restored after the Nashville bombing. I have had the 2000 Luvias and the FW 1000 series on it and they both balance well. I would use the Luvias with the 4# test Troutist line if fishing the White River and the FW 1000 with the 3# test if fishing the Little Red.
