    Default Weiss

Heading down to lake Weiss Martin Luther king weekend. How’s the fishing been lately?
I grew up fishing Weiss at our lake house and live only an hour away now but things have changed some since I fished it all the time. I know the water is gonna be down but hopefully we can carve a few crappie out

    Why don’t you fish there?

I grew up on Weiss in the hay days when we would catch a pile off every bridge pylon. It’s changed over the years

I usually keep fish that were between 9" and 10". Everything larger goes back. Just a personal preference thing where I like little, crispy filets. Weiss is both a long drive and has a 10" minimum length limit.

I completely understand, I thought you lived there on it and didn’t fish it for some reason.

LOL, I live 20 minutes from Lake Guntersville and never fish it. There's too many water fleas and Bass boats running and gunning between spots for me. My perfect day is not seeing another angler!
