First couple hook sets that rod would have broke. That thin of a graphite tip with that reel would have caused the rod to bend backwards.

Neighbor has been replacing some of the boards on his privacy fence. When he puts the old boards at the road for pickup, I grab them. They're 6 foot long and I can take about 5 or 6 a trip. I'm pushing them in the bottom, then hammering them in. They're light weight and not pressure treated so probably won't last more than a year or two but didn't cost me anything.

I've got two of the Okuma SST Kokanee Graphite Rods, SST-C-762L. They seem to have enough back for jig and bobber, but light enough they don't pull a hook through a Crappie's mouth. Both have Zebco Omega Spincast reels in size 20.
I was gonna but a small President to put on it but haven’t had the chance to get one. I had the old zebco laying around and just stuck it on to do some single pole with. Never thought about it breaking it. I lost it somewhere between the put in and where it runs out into the bigger water.Probably when I got out to drag.

I got a couple of the president size 50 when Academy sports had them on clearance. They are super smooth. I got the B & M 11 ft Sam super sensitive with the back reel seat. Very light and very sensitive. It has the little b & m reel on it. Link is for the 10 ft.

Sounds like it is time to order a B&M tree thumper and let the duck commander lie

Wishing everyone hard hits tight lines and heavy stringers
I've been using the Shakespeare Crappie Hunter 10 foot for years. You'll need a light, smooth drag to keep from breaking the pole but I love them and they're dirt cheap. They usually have them at Academy, but recently I had to order them on Walmart.com []Robot or human?. I routinely get in 10-pound catfish on 6-pound line, it's all about the drag on the reel!
I’ve got a 10ft sk with mr crappie solo reel that does pretty good. I liked the 8 ft for getting up in trees and not having a lot of room to operate. I fished with a member and he let me use it and I liked it. He ended up giving it to me a couple weeks ago and I just hadn’t got a good reel to put on it.

I found your rod and reel today. Rod was broken but I grabbed the reel. I'll have it in the truck next time you see me. It will take some cleaning up, but the old Zebco 33 steel reels last forever!

I appreciate it. Means a lot because it was my dads reel. I have another of his or I would have never used that one. Thanks.
