Move them around and try to see what kind of layout will work for your boat. Mindful that as time goes by ideas will change. Try to avoid drilling, moving, redrilling. Eight rods is a lot to keep up with unless they are well laid out. Navigation plays a role as well.

Maybe a picture of the boat will allow others to offer better advice. I’m no expert.

When it warms up this am plan to move 2 of the driftmasters to the rear either side of the livewell.Have the stuff,bases,,to surface mount them. Hopefully here's a pic of the boat.Thanks to all for the advice. Start with 6 and test run.May try the old trolling motor side mounted, but probably drag buckets.
