This comment is only for kayak folks, but I wear hip waders with insulated wader pants if I'm going to be getting in and out at low spots.

What kind of hip waders do you use?I have my wick hip boots from my coon hunting days but they are really heavy.

Y'all gonna think I've lost my mind...

I am a "retired' deer hunter. I've owned a whole bunch of different insulated hunting boots over the years. Mucks were my go to for last 10 years of hunting.

When I fish in cold weather which is often, I now wear crocs with the fuzzy lining and a pair of wool socks. I've fished in them in temps as low as the upper teens. My ankles get a little cold but my feet don't. I guess the holes in the crocs allow the sweat to evaporate and keep my feet dry. Dry feet are warm feet.

I know you lost you mind lol. But I agree with you, I just do shoes. If it's that cold I usually don't go fishing. I know lots have said muck boots but I can do rubber boots if it cooler that 40. When that rubber gets cold so do by feet. If I was going in the cold I would go with some 800gr hunting boots.

I wear a cheap pair of uninsulated hip waders. If it's cold I'm wearing long john pants under. If it's really cold, I have fleece lined pants also. I've fished all day when it's in the 20's in the morning with ice freezing in the rod eyes where the line won't come out. Maybe only hitting low 30's for highs and windy. With work I chased Crappie when I can.

What Furflyin said is the truth, dress in layers and stay dry. Cold and dry is manageable, wet can be life threating.

I just wear running shoes down to about the 30s.
I believe good socks, and keeping them dry is the trick.

Snow shoes and Muck boots.

Insulated Danner boots with a gortex liner will keep you warm and dry.

If it gets cold enough for me to have to wear pair of 350 dollar boots to go crappie fishing I'll stay home and watch Gunsmoke. Couse you and Fur and some others got big money. We school teachers are Po Folks!
