I fished Madison County Lake Friday morning for about three hours, found Crappie on three brush piles. I kept six and returned three slabs. All came off 1" sliders fished eight to ten feet deep. I'd planned to return today while I had more time, but the lake had risen six inches and visibility had dropped from three feet to less than a foot. Still managed five this morning, but the fish had scattered with fish showing on my fish finder eight to ten foot deep all over the lake. Made for a hard day casting, but would have been perfect conditions for spider rigging (I didn't bring my long poles). . Still a fun morning with somewhat cooler conditions. The water was 85 degrees at daylight.
