I fish Gunterville mostly and wanted some other opinions on the spawn this year. I never really caught them shallow with colored up males this Spring. Did I sleep through the spawn on Guntersville this year?

I can't say about guntervill but it's been a strange spring. It's over most places but I did catch some males up shallow at Neely Henry yesterday and I seen Richard G. catching males a couple of days ago on bed so who knows. This has been the worst spring I can remember in a while. I caught them great up till the spawn and then it's been hit or miss with more missing than hitting. Hopefully the early summer bite is good.

Record flooding and the ChinaRona during the spawn didn't help
Just my! When we have messed up weather lots rains and cold nights the shallow water temps never gets stable the deeper water will have more stability try out deeper than normal 6-12’ you might be surprised to what you find . Have caught quite few spawned out fish! Lots folks say they absorb their eggs and don’t spawn and I know they can but you hear that every year and if that’s the case where is all these feeshes coming from!
