Those aren’t drum but we did catch 10 that really were. We also had one break off and another get off before landing them. I’ve never caught that many pulling jigs. It’s common for me to catch one every couple of trips but not 10 in one trip. I had one that I’m guessing was north of 15 pounds.

Not that anyone purposefully fishes for one of those drum, but they sure are fun on light tackle and pull like crazy.

They are occasionally fun. LOL 10 in a couple of hours, with 5 of those coming in about 30 minutes gets frustrating. A couple of them were "world class" drum too. Mitch and I agreed that I should get my charter license and start guiding for them.

We had a lot of them below Neely Henry years ago and I would target them just for fun. Now you can't catch one over 12in long because all the illegal immigrants that keep everything they can get to the bank. You can catch some way down river but at the dam it's nothing but dinky drum. Guntervill dam had a good population last time I was up there hopefully it will stay strong.
