Glenn Rome Georgia is a city too. It is similar in size and real estate values to Gadsden. I teach children who can't get to school because water is standing on roads and in or surrounding their houses. I know people who have campers along the lake in flood plains take their chances but when I see pictures of boats sitting on dry ground because Neely is 5 feet below full pool it irritates me. They could take three or four feet of water off Weiss and relieve a lot of problems. Yes they know Cherokee county is a rural farming county and have little political clout. I guarantee you if Rome was just across the line in Cherokee county it would be different. Let me finish by saying the flood has affected me in no way but I have friends and students who have been. Also these people work just as hard and their lives Ian's property mean just as much to them as it does to the people of Gadsden
