If the tail is in the Red, it goes back. Had to come up with a better system with my aging eyesight! Thanks for the comment.

Great idea Calvin
There is a clear plastic measurer has the 9" marked made by GHS in MO.
The bait shop on 69 in Warrington at Browns creek carries Crappie measuring cups that measure from 8 inches on up to 12. I think they run about $5.99 but been a while since I had to buy one. I screw mine into the side of my 5 gallon fish bucket to prevent losing it.
if you have to measure? it's to small. 9 inch fish not much meat.
I set mine for 12.25" for Mississippi crappie! I do not keep any under 10", up here in TN. I use the tape system also.
I like those tater chips fillets ! I don’t like a thick piece of fish ( taste too fishy ) by no means do I keep everything That measures but if I’m keeping em to eat if it’s over 9”where legal and not a hot day it’s getting the knife/ scaled ! When I used to fish the bridges I kelp one of those clear ones on a rope tied to my bucket !
No fish worth it to me Calvin ! that why we tossed most of our donkeys back when we were their! They still fun to catch though!
Fish not biting much. How do I know? We are talking about fish measures. Wish it would quit raining and the water clear up and stabilize, but rain is the Lords business and he knows what we need. I sure am getting Cabin fever though. Maybe next week in Cocodrie will be nice. May rain but won't be cold
