A bear actually did approach my friend while he was fishing. He almost got shot. But the bear went the other way. They are out there just walking around, so joke or no jokes, bank fisherman need to pay attention and be safe. Learn their behavior. You can jump in the water but guess what ... they can too. Most problems associated with bears occur in early spring when food is scarce, and in late summer before acorns become readily available in the woods. Both periods may force the bears to forage in areas close to human habitation. Lol
