    Default Wheeler 20180304

Snuck into one of my favorite spots last night. The crappie bite was slow but the catfish, bass, and drum were feeding aggressively. I use 4lb test so I was getting aggravated at the catfish because I feel the need to re rig everytime I catch one lol. I only managed 6 crappie but it was one wild night that's for sure. Not sure why but I'm not seeing the option to post pics and I'm a firm believer in pics or it didn't happen 😂

I'm new to the forum, but I just wanted to say that I'm headed out on Wheeler tomorrow, and I have no clue what depth to find them or what color to throw, but I'm just happy to get out and throw a line.

This weather is killing me. Not to mention water levels. My favorite holes aren't fishable until the water comes up. I may try my old trustee but I usually fish it with a kayak and I sold it this past year. Oh well. Good luck to you!

It was a bust! Trolling motor battery died an hour into being on the water. Stopped at the auto parts store on the way home and found that a cell had gone bad. So typical for the first outing in a while!

Got some good bites in 10-15 FOW. Will be going again Thursday or Friday next week! Wish this rain would go away on the weekends!
