    As far as cleaning the sauger/walleye/saugeye family of fish I use the zipper method. There are videos on YouTube showing how to do it.. there is a small mud vein that runs down the center of each fillet of the fish and this removes that. Basically I fillet them the grab the top and bottom half of the fish and pull. You will end up with 2 strips of fish and lateral bones and mud veins will be a separate strip to discard.. also bleed them out by cutting their gills before you leave the water. Makes them taste even better!!!!

    Same here prowler. Used to fish for them all the time. Put 15 inch limit on then TWRA came in below Nick a jack dam and seined a bunch of big ones out. Ruined it. We need to try below Gville over Christmas
