Just out of curiosity, how long do you spend searching versus actually fishing? Seems like I have a bad habit of spending more time fishing empty spots - for you is this accomplished via side/down imaging?

Cotaco is my "home" creek meaning i fish it more than any other water for two main reasons. One, it is very convenient for me. Two, it is a real gem for wildlife and fish. The more i fish it, the more I like it.

Having said this I am very familiar with just about every inch of this creek between the river and Sharp Ford road bridge. I am learning much more south of the bridge.

Deep in the laydowns, the electronics aren't that useful. Outside the laydowns, the electronics give me an indicator if it is holding fish.

For laydowns and underwater structure, I am methodical, working outside in. I often change directions and approach a laydown or structure from different directions for a different presentation on the same location. I also use one of my spider rig holders as a rod holder with 4 rods baited differently for a quick swap. Sometimes while trolling or drifting I will drop a jig or two 5-8' while it is resting in the spider rig setup. Interestingly, I sometimes pick up several fish this way.

Methodically, I do the same in Indian Creek, Flint Creek, and Limestone Bay. If you've worked a laydown without much luck, I recommend you move on. You can always come back to it.

Forgot: stating the obvious...electronics are great for finding under water structure.

For me, today was a very good day in a short period. It is not the norm.

Hope this answers your question. If not, punch me again.
