Great question - would be curious to hear some other chime in as well...
Is it because there are just fewer creeks that have that deep/sized water?

I would like to know myself. I've never been to the big G. Just form all the talk I would guess it's the best hard cover around. This kinda leads me to believe there's not much cover in Guntersville. I've never fished a lake the bridges where the best way to fish. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone opinion

We have a lotta cover on martin. Some of the bridges are loaded some are not. This is a good question.

Lee some bridges are good on most lakes. Seems like that's the main way to fish on Gunntersville.

I remember people at work talking about slaying them at the bridges.one guy was catching a limit from the bank every time he went.at the time i lived within a few miles of 2 really good bridges on elk river.deep, good curent.i thought im gonna get in on this.went and froze my tail off almost every day for a week and caught maybe 5 fish.

I have never fished in Guntersville personally, but I fish wheeler a good bit. There are some bridges that hold them, but the numbers we find are not near what is reported on the G. We do find white bass/stripe a lot. I grew up targeting them instead of Crappie, so catching them is something that we have always done around bridges when the current and temp are right.....I am also curious about why the G is the best with this.

Could it be because the ones that have crappie around them also have shad around them right now ?

G. I'm sure you're correct but why is it that it's a mane stay on Gunntersville and other lakes there's all kinds of way to fish?

The scenario on G'ville is that these are causeways. There is a narrow opening that is the creek channel. This is the only path in or out of these massive creeks. It also creates current. I guess you could say that it is a rest stop and food bar, on the fish interstate.
