How do you make your underwater structure????

We just got our dock on smith lake installed and it's in about 20-30 feet of water. What is your advice for the best type of structure to sink??

I was thinkin PVC structure because it last longer and you don't get as easily hung up on it, but also read some articles about how PVC isn't that great. With there not being too much structure on smith lake, it being a very deep lake and all the docks being floating docks, i figure something is better than nothing.

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!

Wood on clear lakes seems to work better

I’d use Christmas trees, wish I had a pic of some I made, I use 3 trees standing in a 2”by 4” box 2’ by 2’ with 80 lbs of concrete, straight to the bottom they go, standing timber. And if you don’t have much current, you can get a bill dance ball and suspend it around 10 - 12’.

Check out some of the PVC trees that DB makes for places without much current. They would work. But, I agree with the comments about wood. Cedar trees and limbs hold up much better/longer than others.

I like using a concrete block with 6 to 8 pieces of 11/8 black water pipe,cut 2 to 3 ft long,stand the pipe in quickcrete let set then cut bamboo to desired lenth(depends on the depth you plan to drop it)push the bamboo all the way in the pipe and drop it in your favorite spot.my wife and I did this and within 30 minutes we were catching crappie off of it.

I've always been told 2 small to medium size xmas trees per 10inch center block tied with stainless wire and a 20oz coke bottle tied to the tops of the trees would be just enough to stand them up. I cannot verify this but a good fisherman friend puts out 100's of xmas trees on Smith every year and that's what they do. His whole family from his father down to his 3 sons and himself ride around for weeks after Christmas with trailers and pick up every tree they see.
