Default Quick kayak trip in Flint Creek backwater

I made a short trip out in the backwater of Flint Creek this morning after the rain. I was hoping to find some shell crackers on bed. I saw the beds but it looked like they had already left. I did get to try out a used Nucanoe I had bought and the seat set up. The Nucanoe paddled good and the seat set up worked better than my other kayaks. All in all not a bad outing caught 4 crappie and 4 bream all released to catch another day. Also made the move on one of my rods to 4 lb. test line and will probably be switching more over. The 4 lb. line casts the 1/32 jigs much better than the 6 lb. line.

Default Kayak Trip Report, Swan Creek

I fished Swan Creek today near the spring between the morning and afternoon storms. I only caught two Crappie (both released) but found plenty of Gills and Shellcrackers. I left with a limit. I caught a few on red worm w/ a bobber but most came off a Red, 1/12oz Mepps inline spinner.

Ditch, that was my oldest son he loves to fish. I think that was probably his 3rd trip this week.

Have you fished the main swan creek ( by the equipment shed ) area this year? Looking forward to hitting this area soon. Nice catch.
