I make my own and I use plain heads a lot but there are time color definitely make a difference about 2 years ago I was fishing a group of fish pre spawn and just had re spooled my favorite rod not to spook the fish I tied a hot pink head on let the line twist come off and castes away from the fish to make sure the line twist was out a 3/4 pound black crappie hammered the bare hook with pink head!
