Thread: Spawn question

Everybody says they are just starting to spawn here on wheeler.i don't know what to think. Lol

I seen I you post a few days ago you caught some right against the bank. if so where they black males? If you are catching males right against the bank they are spawning. Most people think just because they caught some shallow there spawning that's not always true. In my experience crappie want spawn in over 5ft of water. I know some will disagree but I'm telling you my opinion. Try fish close to the bank on the steeper banks with rock or some kind of hard bottom. They will hit anything that get in there bed.

How long after the females drop do the males retain their dark colors?.

i caught this dark male last Saturday.
